1300 A.D., Ancient Indian Women Extremely Fashionable

Where the Language of Stone Defeats the Language of man

LETS EXPLORE THE LANGUAGE OF STONES:

The Sun Temple at Konark is a magnificent piece of Odisha temple architecture, and one of the most stunning monuments.

Built by the King Narasimhadeva in the thirteenth century, the entire temple was designed in the shape of a colossal chariot with seven horses and twenty four wheels , carrying the sun god, Surya, across the heavens. Surya has been a popular deity in India since the Vedic period .

Apart from excellent sculptures, that reveals Ancient India's rich taste for culture and art, Konark Sun Temple also reveals another remarkable fact about our Ancestors. The most interesting and underlying fact turns out to be that it reveals a very stunning modern day fashion of that era. Researches and study say that European women started to wear high heels not before 1600 A.D. But here we can see the lady in this sculpture standing in high heels, with a fantastic pose for the artist.

A closer view will tell you these shoes have straps on her ankles attached to as to carry them in a proper manner. Now if we compare this with the modern day stiletto, it is an exact match. Many other sculptures of the Sun Temple features women of the era in exactly same footwear, proudly showing of their high heels. This fact is totally unknown to our people and has no mention anywhere, not even in Google or Wikipedia. Also this fact might have remained hidden for many centuries.

So does this actually state that Ancient Indian Women were very advanced in terms of fashion? Well the answer is an absolute YES!! YES!!

To prove the same here is another photo of a lady, caressing her tiara in her personal hand held mirror.

This implies that every Indian women at that era, had mirrors back at their homes. Whereas the use of mirror was not very common over the world during that time. Metals and other polished glossy objects instead were used to see ones image.

These inventions are till date thought as the credit of European culture. But then the real facts are now just in-front of you and not any more hidden.

Now fashion in today's world is totally incomplete without proper dressing. The immediate question comes flying into mind how fashionable were their outfit? Again we would find yet a few other stunning sculptures wearing see-through skirts.

We can clearly see three different kinds of skirts which beautifully reveal the shapes of their limbs.Starting from the right side we see a knee length skirt or may be something like the modern day cepri.

Then in the middle we see the lady wearing A-line long see through skirts where the border edge is exceptionally gorgeous. We are also able to see the entire shape of her legs. On the extreme left lastly we find a lady wearing DHOTI cutting pants or HAREM cutting pants as we may call it.

These must have been carved by a genius artist as it is very hard to curve something on the stone like this to reveal both the skirt and legs.

There are other sculptures that show various designs of transparent skirts of other fashion.

A few sculptures shows partly the shape of women's legs implying the models of fashionable clothes designed at that era.

Hence by the conclusion it seems Ancient Indian women used to spent quality time about beauty as well as fashion just like modern day.
